Therapeutic Relationship

Research has consistently pointed to the importance of the client and therapist relationship in determining whether therapy is effective and many people who have tried therapy over years know this to be true.

The principle aim of my therapy is to develop a relationship with clients in which they feel they are truly heard and respected, and what matters to them in their life is the central focus of our work together.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

It is also important, however, that clients access therapy that has a robust evidence base behind it, so clients know that the therapy they are receiving has been proven to be of value.

CBT has been proven time and time again and features prominently in NICE guidelines.

Personal Approach

However, we all have different histories and preferences and I have the clinical skills and experience developed over many years to offer the style of CBT that clients are seeking including Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
